Hey, I'm Tanya!
I'm an occupational therapist and board-certified sexologist with a passion for holistic health and well-being. I own a private practice in Upstate NY where I specialize in relationship trauma and sexual wellness.
When I started out on my own professional journey, I recognized the importance of addressing sexual health concerns as integral to overall well-being, yet I found limited resources and training available to support OTs in this specialized area.
Driven by my commitment to filling this gap in our profession, I embarked on a journey of exploration and education, investing time and resources (thousands of dollars!) to gain specialized knowledge and expertise in sexual wellness.
I quickly realized there were very few courses and resources specifically for OTs.
I'm creating this course with the goal of providing occupational therapists with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to address sexual wellness concerns with sensitivity, professionalism, and compassion.
My mission with the Sensate Path is simple – to empower occupational therapists to become leaders in sexual wellness, driving positive change in the lives of their clients and communities. Together, we can break down barriers, challenge stigma, and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future in healthcare.
I'm honored to invite you to join me on this transformative journey as we embark on the Sensate Path together. Let's empower ourselves, empower each other, and empower our clients to embrace sexual wellness and live their best lives.
I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars in certifications, courses, and trainings to become a sexuality specialist. The Sensate Path will make this knowledge accessible to you through an OT lens.
The Sensate path is for clinicians who:
- Are driven by their original passion for healthcare and are dedicated to making a positive impact in their clients' lives.
- Are deeply passionate about promoting sexual wellness.
- Value enhancing their knowledge, communication skills, and collaborative efforts.
- Are eager to explore new approaches and step outside their comfort zones
The Sensate path is NOT for clinicians who:
- Clinicians seeking to merely expand their service offerings without a true passion for sexual wellness.
- Those who prefer a strictly procedural, checklist-based approach to treatment.
- Individuals who feel they already possess all the knowledge and are not open to collaborative learning.
